A helicopter landing pad behind the low-growing birch forest. A low, red house in front of a solitary courtyard that lies hidden away at the foot of the mighty mountains. You are not about to stay in a pulsating ski resort. But that was never your intention either.
Abisko Mountain Lodge offers genuine accommodation in an old-fashioned mountain hotel setting. The service is personal and the cuisine is centrered on raw ingredients from the region. Like the Alps, but without mass tourism.
New, fresh hotel rooms or eco-friendly cabins
Our hotel rooms are newly-built for the 2007 season. You will stay in a double room with a shower and toilet. Most of the rooms have separate beds. If you wish to book a room with the beds together, please notify us in advance. There are plenty of clothes hooks in the rooms as youre bound to have lots to hang up and everyone has access to a spacious drying room for wet clothes. Theres storage space for skiing gear next to the rooms. The whole house has wireless broadband, so you won´t suffer withdrawal symptoms during your stay. There are no televisions in the rooms. We want to meet you in our new lounge where guests can relax, watch skiing films or play games. Order a coffee or a glass of wine at the bar, read a magazine or spin a yarn with the other world champions on the sofa.
The eco-friendly cabins are right next to the main building and are charmingly furnished with everything you need for self-catering, including a microwave oven. The bedroom sleeps four and is up on the next floor. The cabin also has a double sofa bed. Cabins are fitted with separating toilets. Guests are welcome to use the relaxation lounge, next to the cabins, where there are showers and flush toilets. Our restaurant is open to all guests who wish to enjoy a delicious meal. And cabin guests are just as welcome to surf on our wireless broadband internet and relax with a drink at the bar (yes - we do serve coffee too) in our comfortable lounge.
